This course is delivered over three 2-hour sessions (Approx. 6 hours). Attendees are expected to attend all 3 sessions.

Overview

This course will walk through the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, identifying patterns for implementing criteria, common examples of issues, and antipatterns to avoid. Legal requirements and best practices for industry will be discussed.

Demonstrations through use of assistive technologies and adaptive patterns will be performed on example code bases.

Learning Outcomes

By attending this course, attendees will;

  • A broad understanding of digital accessibility issues covered by WCAG
  • Understand and interpret the WCAG documentation
  • Describe the WCAG principles and how they relate to the success criteria
  • Describe patterns and antipatterns for accessible website design.
  • Understand the impact to users with different disabilities for each of the WCAG criteria.
  • Apply WCAG principles to practical real-world examples.
  • Identify common accessibility issues and how to remediate in accordance with WCAG
  • Know legal requirements and what is considered best practice.
  • Correlate accessibility features back to the WCAG Principals and criteria.

The WCAG Deep Dive training course is delivered three 2 hour sessions (Approx. 6 hours total).
